Children often need assistance to identify and regulation emotions. Like adults emotional distress can come during life transitions. Children can benefit from developing healthy coping skills. Children often do not know how to communicate their emotions which can result in significant changes in mood or behaviors. During the therapeutic process, a parent or caregiver is always involved. The parent or caregiver will have be in direct contact with the child’s treatment team which may include a therapist, targeted case manager, and/or nurse practitioner.
