Renesha is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with wide-ranging experience treating children, adolescents and adults with complex social and behavioral health needs including those struggling with co-morbid medical and mental health difficulties.
Her work experience includes treatment of children, youth and families receiving services through in-home, professional office setting, group homes, drug and rehab facilities, and school-based services. Her goal is to meet client’s needs by providing research-based treatment from an affirming and developmentally conscious perspective. She received her Bachelor’s degree at Northern Kentucky University and a Master’s degree at Webster University.
Renesha has developed skills in modalities such as Cognitive-Based Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, 7 Challenges, and other methods to help clients manage their anxiety, depression, substance use, and overcoming the lasting effects of childhood trauma. As a counselor, she helps clients realize that past negative experiences do not determine future success. She has worked with clients of all ages seeking to move past the rut that has been affecting their lives.
She also helps to provide clients with tools needed to improve self-sabotage and to see the seemingly hidden positivity in their lives. Renesha holds firmly that we make sense of the world through the lens of our own unique experiences and within the context from which we have come. By examining the ways the larger culture has impacted how we view ourselves, we can then ask how this might get in the way of our most important relationships and connections. From this place we can begin to heal.
